General questions about application

How do I apply?

If you are seeking to apply for one or more scholarships for student members, download the Call for Application and the Application Form and fill out. You do not need to fill out multiple application forms for each award, but the materials should be submitted separately for the corresponding award. For instance, if you want to submit applications for both KAASM Scholarship and Lee Jeoung Hak Award, you can submit only one application form and indicate you are submitting for both awards. However, required materials (i.e., essay) should be prepared and submitted separately for each award. For Kang Joon-Ho Research Grant, please refer to the Call for Proposals

Am I eligible?

SCHOLARSHIPS -- Any student members presenting at the upcoming NASSM conference are eligible to apply for both the KAASM Scholarship and the Lee Jeoung Hak Award. If you are a graduate student presenting at NASSM and traveling from Korea, you can also apply for the Kim Yu Kyoum Travel Grant in addition to other two scholarships.

RESEARCH GRANT -- This award is open to all professional and student members. However, the priority will be given to those who earned their terminal degree within three years prior to the grant submission. The PI should be a current KAASM member.

Regardless of the award, the applicant must be a current member of KAASM (Membership runs from 1/1 to 12/31). If you have not renewed your membership this year, you must renew or register as a member before submitting your applications.

Renew your membership or register as a new member here.

How is the decision made?

Director of Programming charges review committees who will evaluate scholarship applications and research grant applications. The review committee will evaluate each application and make recommendations to the Director of Programming. Any faculty members who have conflict of interest will not be invited to serve on the review committee. Winner of each award and grant will be announced at the annual KAASM conference and upcoming KAASM newsletter.
